Question
How can i fix my speedometer on my 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. i know its just a wire going to a sincere but don't know where i can get the wire and the speedometer wire goes on the transmission?

Answer
Hi Daniel:
the speedo on thay car was electrically driven. the speed sensor is on the nose of the trans axle. it's a 2 wire connector it's right where the axle goes into the transmission. It could have a broken wire or the speed sesnor gear may have broken off inside the transmission. It's just a plastic gear in there and it may have broken. If it's neither of those problems it could be the speedo head it's self or the buffer that translates the signal from the sensor to the engine computer and to the speedo. I don't believe the buffer is part of the engine computer on that car. I think that year was one of the first with an electric speedo. It's been a long time since I worked on one of those cars. good luck :}
