Pontiac Repair: 1999 pontiac sunfie, plastic retainers, phillips screw

 On the drivers door I need to get the panel of so that I can check out the door lock rod. My sister locked her keys in the car and I used a slim jim to get the door unlocked. When I did that she can not get the door to unlock with the key from outside. I think that I may have knocked the rod off the lock. How do I remove the door panel?

I'm sure that is what happened.

The door tril comes off pretty easy. take off the trim piese behind the mirror it has just one phillips screw holding it on. Then CARFULLY pry the bezel off around the inside door handle it has the power door lock switch on it, unplug the switch. across the bottom of the door is like 4 or 5 phillips screw remove them. Then there are 2 7 mm head screws that are in the under side inside door grab handle remove them then use a small flat headed screw driver and gently pry the door trim away form the door and then when all the plastic retainers are free lift the door trim staight up ther is a "J" channel that the top of the trim sists in to keep it tight against the door.
