Pontiac Repair: Car Battery, battery cables, wierd things

2000 Grand prix.  Car would not start we thought it was the battery, so we replaced it.  At first it started right up, did not drive it,went out a few hours later it started up  but seemed weaker then it died.  I started it up again and it died again. the guy from the towing comp. thinks its the computer.

What do you mean by it will ot drive? does it start and stall out? or whe nyou put it i n gear to drive it it will not move? Take a look at the battery cables if either of them are corroded or not tight the car will doo all kinds of wierd things like start and stall or not crank. If the car runs and will not move when you put it in gear then there is some sort of transmission issue. good luck :}
