Pontiac Repair: how to remove starter from car, pontiac bonneville, gauge wire

I ned to remove the starter from my 1990 Pontiac Bonneville. Do you have a repair diagram that will assist me in this task

Hi Frank:

No diagram but I can walk you through it. disconnect the battery, then remove the screws that hold the inspection cover on arounf the starter motor remove the 2 wires that are attached to the starter one is the battery cable and the other one is a purple smaller gauge wire. Remove the 2 bolts that attach the motor ot the engine block. then you will have to wiggle and jigggle and turn the motor every which way to get it past the frame and exhaust pipe. Just reverse the procedure to reassemble. Good luck :}
