Pontiac Repair: 2002 grand prix, performance code, scan tool

Hello Todd,

I 've scanned above car and have gotten the code p1401....does the code have a special designation ie., bmw 1401 is only for bmw, or is it an egr value issue? where should I start? Thanks! Kyle

That code is not for that year car with either the 3.1 or 3.8 liter engine. If you have a genaric scan tool that stuff can happen. Usually a 1400 series code is for the EGR or EVAP system. a p1404 is and egr pintel performance code. a p1441 is an evp solenoid code. Hope that helps. :}
