I HAVE A 2001 BONNEVILLE SSEI.  RECENTLY I STARTED TO SMELL GAS.  SOMETIMES I CAN SMELL IT AND SOMETIMES I CAN'T. COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THIS POSSIBLY IS.  THANKS!

do you smell it through the heater vents or under the hood or out side the car near the rear of the car? If you semll it under the hood that's not good it can be a fuel line,injector or pressure regulator leaking. Does it start hard after sitting a while? under the hood is not good if it's bad enough all it needs is an ignition source and the fumes will ignite so that needs to be addresses sooner rater than later. if you smell it near the rear it could be a emission canister filled up with fue or a line leaking as well. that car has a plastic fuel tank so it can't  rusted and leaking.
