Question
Radiator fan coming on as soon as you turn the heater or
defroster on, won't let engine heat up to temperature, so
heater doesn't work properly.
checked relay under the hood and engine temperature sensor

Hey Richard:

a couple of things to look at. on those older cars as soon as the a/c is running the fan runs or when the a/c pressure on the high side hits a certain pressure it runs the fan every body line of car is different this is a normal operation. It' so the car will no over heat. You could have an issue where the heater control head is bad and it's teeling the fan to run on in heat mode. Without a scan tool you will not be able to tell if the comoputer is getting that request at the wrong time or not. Reguardless if the fan is runnin or not the engine should heat up it just wiull cool down really fast once the t/stat opens up. you may have a thermostat on thius car that is the wrong temp or is open at to cold a temp. good luck :}
