Pontiac Repair: 2002 Bonneville SLE 3800 non super charge, techron injector cleaner, oil pressure gauge

Question
Car is surging while accelerating after it is warm, and check engine light is on. Read codes, and I get a p0128, p0102, cleaned the maf sensor out with carb clean, it looks like the two wires on the inside of the maf sensor are good. Not sure where the map sensor or aic sensor is. Erased codes and after about 4 starts I get the code for temperature not reaching threshhold or something like that the code 0128 problem. I have put new wires,plugs,air filter in it , but not a pvc. Also, the oil gage is pegged out(awesome pressure), and the fuel gage half the time doesn't work its pegged on max as well.

Answer
Hey Bruce:

the p0128 is a bad thermostat. it's taking to long for the negine to come up to temp. 9 out of 10 times it's the t/stat but it could also be a bad temp sensor but very doubtful. the fule gauge is a level sending unit in the tank gone bad. the oil pressure gauge pegged is more than likely a sending unit on the negine but it could also be a bad gauge as well. as for the surge it can be a lot of things being that it had a MAF code I would suspect that is going bad and cleaning it was just a band aid. you need an actaul scan too, to see what's going on with thin not just a code reader. when it's surging you need to look at the fule trim and see what's going on My guess it is has a lean misfire but why??? has this had any engine work done to it recently? upper or lower intake manifold gaskets? I have see the o-ring under the pcv valve be left out and cause all kinds of issues. when the injectors start to get dirty on these cars they do wierd things as well. you can try getting a bottle of chevron techron injector cleaner and run that through a tank of fule and see if that help. Thta is about the only additive that actaully works. I have seen it at wal*mart and in good parts stores. Just a few ideas. good luck :}
