Pontiac Repair: 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT Headlight, headlamp bulb, pontiac grand am

Question
I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT V6 automatic transmission 4 door car. The passenger side headlight recently went out. When I try to replace it I am reluctant to do so because everything seems so condensed and enclosed. Can you walk me through replacing the headlight lamp? Is it easier than it looks?

Answer
Hi
It's just as easy as it looks
here is the procedure from GM
Open the hood.
Remove the front air deflector. Remove the push-in retainers from the upper air deflector.
Remove the push-in retainers from the top of the front bumper fascia.
Slide the tabs from under the front fenders and remove the upper air deflector from the vehicle.
Apply light pressure to the headlamp lens to hold the headlamp in place while disconnecting the retainers.
Lift up the headlamp retainers to release.
Important: Note the location and position of the headlamp adjuster retainers and the locator tab.
Remove the headlamp, pulling straight forward from the headlamp mounting panel.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the headlamp.
Rotate the headlamp bulb/socket(s) counterclockwise to release.
Remove the headlamp bulb(s), if required.

Thats it..... the "retainers" are a clear or "natural" colored plastic holding the lamps in place.
I hope this helps
