Pontiac Repair: Dash Light went out on my 96 Grand Am, head lamps, dash light

Question
I started my car up one night and all the dash lights had gone out.  The speedometer and the rpm gauge were still working fine, but i had to turn the dome light on to view them.  When i checked the fuse there was no power going to the box.  The vehicle is a 6 cylinder 96 Grand Am Se four door

Answer
Hi TJ

Does the back light work for the othre things on the dash like the HVAC controls and the radio? if thye work thne thre is an issue withe the cluster assembly. If they are all out thne the issue is with a fuse or the head lamp switch/dimmer switch. with the head lamps on the fues labeld something like int lamp or ip lamp it's going to be a smaller fues like maybe 10 amps if that is what you mean by no power to the box??? it gets it's power from the switch. do the exterior lmaps work when you turn on the head lamps? hope that helps you out some At least it will anrrow it down.. good luck :}
