Is the 2005 grand prix gt have the same motor as the 2006 gt?

If the engine is the same digit in the 8'th spot of the VIN# then I would venture tio say yes. But if you wanted to make sure call a junk yard and they have charts to let you know if an engine friom one year is able to be used with a nother year. they have cross refrence charts. My job is just to fix them I have nothing to do with what part fits what year etc..
