Pontiac Repair: 2005 Montana w/ power door issues, plungers, sv6

Question
My 2005 Sv6 has a power door that will no close it gives an a beep as warning an object obstructs its path and nothing is there.  I had to disconnect it to get the door to close.  Now it beeps all the time with the power disconnected to the door.  What could be the problem?

Answer
Hi Jeff:

well it can be a lot of different things. the most likely thing is the contactos on the door and the "b" pillar on the van. open the door up and look at the metal contact pad on the van body if the brass looking contacts are green or a crusty white color clean the contacts with a fine sand paper. same withe the plungers that stick out of the front side of the door. re connect what ever you disconnected and turn the door switch off on the overhead console. open and close the door manuallr 2 times then turn on the door again and try to auto open it and see what happens. If doesn't work or does the same thing the door may be mis adjusted if it closes hard it can cause the controller to stop working the door. those are about the only things you can do without a repair manual. this is a pretty complex system and even us delaership technicians thses give us fits there is a service bulletin that addresses multiple door closing issues and it goe in depth to all the possibilites of dor problems and I bet it's 15 pages long.... to sum up basicallt what's happening is either the door is not closing properly of the control module for the dorr is not sseing that the door is closed when in deed it is. good luck :}
