Pontiac Repair: 99 pontiac transport transmission, pontiac transport, mechanic

I have a 1999 pontiac transport van with a 3.4 litre engine. It has 160,000 km. on it. The transmission has a hard time shifting out of first gear, but once it does the van is fine until I slow down and have to start up again. It is worse when the van is cold. Once the van warms up it is not too bad.

I would consider first having the fluid and filter replaced (if not done lately).
If it has been done lately, unless your a transmission mechanic, theres not much else that can be done.
My advice would be to take it to a GOOD transmission mechanic, and have them properly diagnose your concern.
It MAY not be a tranny problem....
