Pontiac Repair: 2002 sunfire hard on gas, weight oil, fuel consumption

2002 2.2 sunfire. I had an oil change and I am using double the gas for the same travels per week. Does this make sense? How can I rectify this?

No it doesn't make any scence at all the only thing I can think of is that may have put a VERY heavy weight oil in the engine and even if that were the case it would double your fuel consumption. Was anything else done at the oil change did they sell you any filters or any other service other then the oil change? It may just be a coincidence that something else has gone bad and making you use more fule. Sorry I can't be of much more help but that is REALLY ODD!  Good luck :}
