Pontiac Repair: gas smell, fuel pressure regulator, pontiac bonneville

Question
Ive only owned this car for a week. Its a '99 Pontiac Bonneville. It drives fine, except for last night. Before I left work, I let the car warm up for about 5 minutes cause it was about 40 something degrees outside. When I got home about 20 minutes later , the whole house smelled of gas, cause the car was parked in the garage. I went outside in the garaged and put my nose between the hood and the windshield and I could smell gas, so I pulled the car out of the garage. Could you please give me an idea of where the gas smell is coming from please.

Answer
Hi Chala:
It's hard to say but if you smell it under the hood then the leak is most likely there. Now what is leaking??? Good question with out seeing it it's just a guess. but possibly an injector seal leaking or the fuel pressure regulator leaking or even a emission canister that is filled up with gas those are all under the hood. If the gas smell is that bad I would advise you not to drive this car and get it towed to a repair shop. if you can smell it then it's bad enough to ignite with any kind of spark under the hood. This is NOT a safe situation.. good luck :)
