Pontiac Repair: engine kicking in and out., catalitic converter, gain speed

Question
I have a '93 Sunbird Le 3.1L V6. I recently had to replace the O2 sensor,as well as the MAP sensor and since I have done that when I am driving my car feels like it is loosing power(dosen't rev as high,and doesn't gain speed. This happens off and on. One minute it'll be driving fine and the next it will feel like it has kicked out then it wants to take off again.What could be causing the problem and how do I fix it? The check engine light isn't on!

Answer
Wow this car is giving you fits..... well you could have a fule pump problem you should have the fuel pressure checked. possibly a restricted or plugged fule filter. It could be a transmission issue where it's slipping giving you that feel. pull out the dipstick and look at the fluid level with it hot and running in park if it's low top it off if it looks brown and muddy and smells burnt you have a transmission issue. you could also have a catalitic converter that is restricted making it run this way as well but that wouldn't really come and go it would be that way all the time. good luck :}
