Pontiac Repair: 97 Trans Sport - Driver Window Track, silicone spray, sport driver

Question
QUESTION: Bottom line is the driver's window track is off a bit.  When rolling the window up it doesn't have a solid seal to it & you can move the window back-n-forth slightly.  I completely removed the panel and can see where the track is moving but cannot find where to "tighten it up".  How can I tighten the track so the window is snug again when rolling it up?  Thank you.

ANSWER: Hey Douglas:

This is a pretty common issue. complete door module needs to be replaced it includes the regulator and the motor and door lock assembly. It's pretty pricey and a dealer only part. the metal regulator can be replaced which is your issue but the problem is the metal regulator becomes loose in the module and the mounting/pivot for the regulator doesn't fit properly and the window goes up crooked. a new regulator will do the same thing in the old regulator. good luck :}

QUESTION: I neglected to mention the window is not electric but manual.  I assume the issue is the same for replacing the complete door module?

Thank you for the quick & detailed response to assist in this "self-help" project.

Answer
Yup same issue. the crank windows at time are worse they wear out sometimes worse because of the torque exerted by you arm cranking them. when you do replace it lube the window run channels with spray silicone spray it will make the window go up and down easier.
