Pontiac Repair: engine shut down, fuel pressure gauge, coolant temp

QUESTION: I have a 93 firebird 3.4 automatic, at any givin time the motor just shuts off..I dont lose power to the dash( all instruments are still working)motor just quits,sometimes I can shift to nutural and restart and sometime it wont.sometimes when I go to start for the first time it wont crank....just turns over, it is a random thing, but getting worse, it shut down on me 5 times on the way to church this morning (about 15 miles) but none on the way  home

Well this could a a bunch of things. My first though is a fule fump going bad when it stalls does it spit and sputter then dye? if so that is a sign of running out of fuel pressure. if not it could be an ignition issue. The best thing to do it let it run untill it dies and see what you missing. Put a fuel pressure gauge on the engine and a spark teste in one of the plug wires and let it run untill it dies and see what's missing. good luck :}

QUESTION: no sir..it doesn't sputter when it dies,but sometimes when i first start it in the morning or it has been sitting a few hours, it will run rough like the fuel mixer is not correct kinda like it is missing real bad or just hitting on 3 or 4 cylinders.you can shut it off and restart it and it will run fine,sometimes it take several tries but it does clear up. this does not happen every morning...it is a random thing

You could have a bad set of ignition wires and when it's damp in the AM the wires are arching untill that moisture burns off. You could also have fule injectors that are leaking down when the engine sits meaning the fule from the fuel rail leaks into the cylinders and basically floods those cylinders out and it take a bit for that gas to burn off and that would cause the same issue. You could have a coolant temp sensor that's bad and when it's cold it's throwing off the fuel mixture. It can be a lot of things. I think you have more than one issue here that this car has. Juat a few more ideas......
