Pontiac Repair: sunroof, best guess, switch assembly

I own a 2004 gran prix with 3800 v6 with a factory installed sunroof. I have to press the sunroof switch about 20 times to get the roof to open or close because with each press of the switch the roof will only move about 1 inch. The roof worked properly when new. Thanks

Hi Joe:

It's one of a few things. Either a bad switch or a bad control module for the motor or the stop switch assembly in the motor is bad. It's hard to say without being able to test the system. MY best guess is the stop switch assembly on the motor is bad. I have changed a few of them. good luck :)
