QuestionI just bought this car and stupidly assumed a safety report meant it was legit and in good working order. Turns out the safety report was faked and that the car has major electrical problems and I don't know where to start.
1) turn signals work if I hold the lever up for a right hand turn. otherwise they don't work at all.
2) heater fan doesn't blow no matter which button I choose on the heater/AC panel but the panel does light up that switch which is depressed.
3) Antilock brakes and parking brake lights on dash wont go off.
3) Doors don't open properly with a key, I have to try several times to get the door to open.
4) security light for interior sometimes will not go off at all after exiting the car and locking the doors.
5) Windshield gets frosts inside.
can any of this be fixed by an average back yard mechanic? if not, is it worth doing the repairs professionally or should I cut my losses now?
Aside from these electrical problems the car runs beautifully.

Most of this stuff is not back yard mechanic type of stuff especially the electrical stuff. The first thing I would tackle is the blower motor that is a safety thing if you can's see where your going. look in my past answers I just answered a question a few days agon about a blower motor on a older G. Prix I gave the lady pretty good detail how to fin the problem. Next thing is the turn signals sounds like it's a switch issue. That is really not a do it your self job you need special tools to get the steering wheel off and to get to the switch. If your going to keep this and not cut your losses now those are the things I would tackle first. As far as the lights not going off it could be a multitude of things from a door switch bad to a interior lamp module bad to a shorted wire.. electrical problems can get expensive in a hurry so you just may want to cut your losses and fin something else. These are actaully pretty good cars if they are kept up and not abused. The Lumina,Regal,Cutlass are all the same basic car . Good luck :)
