Pontiac Repair: 97 bonneville 3.8 liter w/ac, battery cables, ground cable

Question
Noticed voltage was dropping while running. Down to about 8 volts or so. Picks up when you accelerate.  Replaced alternator and belt. Still doing it. Battery new last year. Any ideas    Thanks

Answer
Hi Ray:

I would take a long hard look at both battery cables the ground and both of the positive cables. especially the positive cables where they are stacked together on the battery they have a tendency to build up corrosion. make sue the ground cable is tight on the engine and also on the body. I would also have the battry checked even know it's new last year if the alternator was going bad for a while before it finally quit it may have damaged the battery. Good luck :)
