Pontiac Repair: 01 grand am roaring in driver side front, hub flange, vacinity

Question
Hello, I've got a vibration or roaring coming from the driver side front of my 01 grand am (4 cyl). It sounds like a 4x4 truck w/swampers when accelerating/decelerating. The vibration gradually increase w/speed.....Changed the bearing/hub unit, tires rotated and aligned.None were the problem. Ideas? Thanks

Answer
Hi
Sorry for the delay...
Is there any possibility it could be the right front wheel bearing?
Sure sounds like a bearing problem.
Can you suitability support the front and put it in drive and see if the noise is present with no weight on bearings?
If so it almost certianly would be hub bearing.
Tires also are a a source of Vibration.....any rotating component can vibrate... hub, flange, rotor wheels... you did not mention a Balance....have you had the tires balanced?
If so I would also HIGHLY recommend finding a shop in your vacinity with this machine
http://www.gsp9700.com/
or similar.
I hope this helps
