Pontiac Repair: 2002 grand prix, shift control, solenoid

I am the owner of a 2002 Grand Prix 6-cylinder, recently I could not get the key out of the ignition. I took it to the dealership to have it looked at and it is the tranny shift control interlock the solenoid is bad. however I cannot afford 600.00 what can I do or re-wire to get my key out of my ignition? I also have parts numbers if those may help.

There is a small circular trim piece just below where you insert key. (Little smaller than a US dime)
If you remove this small trim, and insert athe ERASER end of a pencil into hole and oush up lightly, you'll be over riding the BTSI, and you'll be able to remove the key.
