Pontiac Repair: Window motor or switch, little bit at a time, pontiac sunfire

I have a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire.The drivers side window will go down but will go up a little bit at a time.How can I find out if it is the switch or window motor??

It's not the switch it it will go up but cuts out. More than likely it's a bad window regulator and it's overloading the circuit breaker inside the motor. The regulator may be bent if the window goes up crooked that's a sure sign that the regulator is bent. The motor has a circuit breaker inside of it that cuts out if the motor is overloaded when it cools off that when it starts to go back up again. Depending on weather this is a 2 or 4 door one of the regultors comes with a new motor on it I can't remember which one does and doesn't. Good luck :)
