Pontiac Repair: 93 Grand Prix Rear brakes, rear brakes, spanner wrench

Question
Do you have to manually adjust the rear calipers using a spanner wrench when you replace the rear brake pads? I have a 93 grand prix GTP. The parking brake doesn't seem to adjust them. I replaced one of the rear calipers, so I think that one should be working.

Answer
Hey Tony:

No they are self adjusting as soon as they are all re assembled and put back on the car once you press on the brake pedal a few times the base brakes take up the slack between the pads and rotos and then the parking brake is set as well. if the parking brake pedal goes to the floor and doesn't hold the car then you may have a cable issue or the cable is out of adjustment. You only have to use that spanner tool to compress the piston back into the caliper. The fluid pressure forces it back out again.
