Pontiac Repair: Headlights and Fog lights, fog light bulbs, high beams

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am.  I noticed today that both my drivers side headlight and fog light are out. If I turn on the high beams the headlight works. Is if odd that both lights went out at the same time?

Hey Clark:

Yes it's odd but if the high beam works on that side but not the low It's a bulb issue more than likely and the fog light bulbs going out is not uncommon at all you may have a bad fog lamp it's self letting water into the lamp and that may have blew out the bulb. but either way not unusual at all. If you change them your self DO NOT touch the glass part of the bulb with your fingers the oil from your skin will shorten the life of the bulbs. Good Luck :)
