Pontiac Repair: Engine stalls during decel, pontiac bonneville, maf sensor

Question
I have a 1999 pontiac bonneville se with a 3.8 V6 64K miles periodically the engine will die when decellerating while turning. Noticed tach fluctuates 2 to 300 rpms when idling at times. Any ideas?? I have changed fuel filter

Answer
Hi
Could be numerous things.
Poor fuel pressure, dirty throttle body, faulty MAF sensor, dirty MAF sensor wire, a wire rubbing to (-) somewheres and grounding out a battery feed circuit.
My advice would be to take it to a shop and have it scanned for trouble codes. You'll at least be able to eliminate a few things. (autozone offers free scans)
Since the idle fluctates, I would HIGHLY suspect something with air flow (throttle body, MAF sensor OR MAF sensor wire harness)
I Hope this helps
