Pontiac Repair: Shudders when shifts, torque converter clutch, pontiac grand prix

Question
Hello,
I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with 140,000 miles.  A month ago I noticed when it shifted up through the gears it got to the last shift and then it shuddered a bit.  Didn't do it for a week or so then started to do  it more frequently.  Shifts fine and doesn't seem to slip.  only does it after it shifts the last time.  no fluid leaking or anything.  Any thoughts??

Answer
Hi
It is very possible that it may be the TCC (torque Converter clutch). If it is it is common for them to shudder a bit as they get older..
I would recommend getting a pan drop type transmission service, replacing the filter and fluid.
I would then get the shop to preform a fluid flush, this way you'll be replacing ALL 10-12 qts of fluid AND the filter.
Other than that anything is your choice/decision.
I Hope this helps
Good Luck
