Pontiac Repair: another 2000 pontiac montana question, pontiac montana, wheel bearing

Question
Todd,
The other day my Montana started making a odd sound. When I turn the wheel from left to right while the the van is running it makes a large hum/low whine sound. I checked the fluid level and it was low but even after adding more fluuid the noise continues. Any suggestions?

Answer
Is it while the van is moving or standing still. If it makes a noise while driving it may be a wheel bearing issue and not a steering issue at all. If it's there when the van is not moving it's a sterring issue. It could be a shutter from one of the lines vibrating or it could be from the pump or out of the gear it's self. It's hard to say without hearing it or feeling it. Good luck :)
