Pontiac Repair: 2000 Sunfire GT Rear Defrost not working Light is on, purple wire, hvac control

Hi Todd;
I replaced the switch to my rear defrost thinking it was that but it was not. The light turns on but still no rear defrost. I read somewhere that there was some kind of relay or wiring behind the Hood lever...would you know anything about fixing this? Ít pretty dangerous not being able to see out of the rear window. Hey Tony:

It may be something really easy like the wire fell of the rear window. use a 12 Volt test light with the defogger on check to see if you have power and ground to the rear window grid. If you don't have battery voltage on the purple wire to the window you have to trce it back to the hvac control head. Chnaces are if it's not a wire that fell off that you have a wiring issue where one of the connections is bad in that power feed to the grid. Good luck :)
