Pontiac Repair: 1995 pontiac bonneville hood latch, pontiac bonneville, worst case scenario

Question
Hello Todd.  My hood is stuck on my 1995 pontiac bonneville.  When I first pull the latch I hear the pop but it does not pop up.  I have tried pushing down on hood to no avail.  Now when I pull the latch, I hear a clicking but no pop.  I have looked in the grill and do not see any kind of cable.  Any ideas how I can get my hood open?

Thanks in advance for your help....

Ken

Answer
Hey Ken:

This is not a a easy one. If you can hear the latch pop but the hood will not open that's not good. you may want to have someone pull on release handle while you lift up on the hood it may pop open then. If not then something in the latch it seized or broken if that's the case it's a job for a collision shop. If the cable had just broken sometimes you can fish a wire in through the grill and catch the latch and unlock it but the "H" body car is the worst you have no way of actually seeing the latch so it's totally done by feel. Worst case scenario they have to use a panel cutter and cut the hood off around the latch and replace the hood and the latch. That is the WORST case scenario.
