Pontiac Repair: sunroof leak, rain gutter, drain hoses

Question
it rained here pretty hard this weekend and I have a leak in the passengerside of the sunroof.  It seems to be coming in on the (looking at the car) left corner of the sunroof then overflowing the channel then dripping into the car.
Any suggestions on how to fix?

Answer
Hi rick.

I all depends on what type of car you have. the rain gutter on the sun roof should catch what ever leaks past the roof it's self. If it's leaking that bad an overflowing the gutter you either have a glass that's way out of adjustment or the seal is bad on the glass. You could have an issue where one of the drain hoses that is attached to the gutter assembly is either plugged up with dirt/leaves etc or just came off the tube. Hope that helps you out. As a general rule of thumb the sunroof glass is usually flush to 1 MM below the roof line and at the rear it's usually about 1MM above the roof line. Good luck! Water leaks really suck to deal with!
