Question
I have a 2001 grand prix 3.8 L with starting problems. I had to depress accelerator to start car. Recently changed oil. checked and cleaned air intake sensor located between air filter and carb? car starts great now,but stalls in drive when idling or taking turns in short distance drives. just found out the car had a problem starting again. any info would be appreciated.

Answer
Hey Kevin.

This could be an number of things. The intake at temp sensor is more than likely not your problem. You may have a MAF sensor issue. Wiggle the connect with the car running if it quits you found the problem. It may have a fule pressure regulator leaking gas into the vacuum line and it' running to rich causing the stall and the hard start. start the car and let it run a few minutes then shut it off and let it sit 10-15 minutes and pull the hose off the top of the regulator and see it it's wet and gas is leaking into the hose. Any service engine light? I'm sorry I can't be of much more help but there are a lot of things that can contribute to this issue but these 2 are the most common. Good luck!
