Pontiac Repair: 90 firebird 3.1 Fuel Reg/Fuel Rail, torx screws, metal cap

Question
Have a replacement fuel reg for my 90 firebird 3.1L V6 Have it located but my repair manual informs me it is serviced together with the fuel rail as a whole, I have no idea how to remove the cap to replace the baffle any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hey Joshua,

Wow that's a trip down memory lane. I don't remember quite how that one was replaced. The newer ones have a snap ring that holds them into the rail. I belive a few of those older ones had a metal cap with torx screws you removed the metal cap and the regulator was serviced that way.... But now that I think of it it may have been the newer 3.4 Liter.... To tell you the truth I would have to see it to tell you how that one is removed. The original factory one on that year may have been serviced as a unit with the rail and and aftermarket regulator is now available and that's why your manual says that. If that were the case then your guess is as good as mine. Sorry.... :(
