Pontiac Repair: Pontiac Aztek, pontiac aztek, electrical center

Question
I have 2001 Pontiac Aztek.  I have some strange problem with its electricity system.  The headlight flashing by itself as well as rear lights.  Also while driving, all meters would went off for moment and back on too often.  I took it to repair shop and they blame on Alternator and BCM (Body Control Module).  For some reason I felt it is not these.  If you know what is causing this strange electricity function or if you agree with this repair man.  Could you please tell me if it is replaceable and how difficult?

Answer
Hi
I would suspect the BCM more than the Alt.
I have had numerous A/B body vans have REALLY weird and strange electrical problems, all stemming from the BCM.
I would take it to another repair faciltity, if your not completly happy with the firsts diagnosis, and have a second opinion. All it will cost is a diagnostic fee and usually that is waived if the work is done there.
Call around to different repair shops.
As I stated I do agree more on the BCM. It DOES have the ability to be scanned for codes and will set codes.
As far as difficulty, it is a 5 on a scale of 10. The center console needs to be removed.
The the console frame needs removal and the electrical center needs to come ALL the way out.
The BCM "clamps" into the electrical center from the back side.
Please, follow back post, if needed.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck
