Pontiac Repair: Car getting stuck, service engine soon light, filter change

I have a 2004 Grand Prix that I have had since 7/07 & recently it seems to be getting stuck when I try to accelerate for some reason, it just do not go like it used to, seem to be loosing power, I wanted to know what could be the cause & if is repairable?

How many miles are on vehicle?
I would consider DEPENDING on mileage a fuel filter, air filter change.
See if that helps.
From there I would have the vehicle scanned for codes (service Engine soon light) and have the data checked for all being within OEM limits.
