Pontiac Repair: Broken Window, power accessory, rear deck

Question
The automatic driver's side window on my 2001 grand am (4 cylinder) fell down into the door. I was trying to roll it up and just heard a loud clank. Then when I tried to roll it back down, it clanked agian and just fell down into the door. I can't seem to get the panel to the door off to figure out whats wrong with it. I don't want to break it. Could you please help me?

Answer
Hi
Sounds like the window regulator broke.
here is the procedure to remove the door panel.
With a flat-bladed tool remove the door warning reflector.
Remove the door panel screw (3) through the hole in the door warning reflector opening.
Remove the door trim panel insert.
Remove the screw (2) from the arm-rest pull handle.
Remove the door handle bezel.
Remove the accessory switch plate from the door trim panel.
Remove the door trim panel screw through the accessory switch plate opening.
Remove the window regulator handle, if equipped.
Using door panel clip removing tool, and starting at the door bottom, disengage the door trim panel retainers.
Lift up on the trim panel to disengage it from the inner belt molding.
Disconnect the rear deck release switch connector.
Route the power accessory wiring harness through the openings in the door trim panel.
Remove the door trim panel from the door.
Remove the rear deck release switch from the door trim panel, if required
You should then be able to see the regulator and push the window up.
Hope this helps.
