Pontiac Repair: Pontiac 2001 SSEI Temp, radiator flush, ssei

Question
This car blows out hot air on the drivers side and cold air on the passenger side and also the engine is starting to overheat.  If you are able to help, consider I know NOTHING about the car but need help badly in repair as soon as possible.  Thanks

Answer
First, it sounds as if your thermostat for your engine is bad. This would explain the overheating assuming you have plenty of coolant in your car. If not then you have something clogging your coolant flow and your engine will need to be flushed. You can get radiator flush from just about any auto parts store.

Second, you could have a problem with your switch or the servo motor itself that changes an air valve beneath your dashboard to the cooling or heating air position.

Thank you for your generous rating. I also remembered you might want to look at your fuses, you have a fuse that is for the heater system that could also cause an issue with the servo.
