Pontiac Repair: clutch?, clutch fluid, hydraulic clutch

Question
the clutch on my 95 sunfire has very little movment to it, you almost have to push it to the floor before it has pressure. The fluid level is good.It is extremely difficult to shift gears, first gear especially, but when th car is off it is usually no problem. i had the same problem about 5 months ago but it only lasted for about 6 weeks and went away. I was thinking something to do with the slave cylinder. Do you know any way I can fix this problem, preferably as cheap as possible, ill jimmy-rig it any way necassary to get it to work properly. thanks man, mike

Answer
Hi
I wish I had better reply, but to access the slave cylinder, the transmission MUST be removed. And they do, loose movement over time with a full fluid charge.
You could try to bleed it out
Here is the EXACT GM procedure for doing this

1)Clean dirt and grease from the cap in order to ensure that no foreign substances enter the system.
2)Attach a hose to the bleeder screw on the clutch actuator assembly. Submerge the other end of the hose in a container of Hydraulic Clutch Fluid GM P/N 12345347, or equivalent.
3)Depress the clutch pedal slowly and hold.
4)Loosen the bleeder screw to purge air.
5)Tighten the bleeder screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in)
6)Repeat steps 3 through 5 until air is purged.

Try this, it may just need a good bleeding.
I hope this helps, please if more help is needed, feel free to follow post.
Good Luck
