Question
I HAVE A 3.8L ENGINE, SOMETIMES WHEN I YAKE OFF FROM A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO GET GAS. IHAVE HAD IT TUNED UP AND HAVE HAD FUEL SYSTEM CLEANED BUT IT STILL DOES IT ON OCCAISION. I THOOUGHT IREAD SOME WHERE ON THE NET THAT THIS ENGINE HAS SOME SRT OF PROBLEM DOYOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS?

Answer
Hi
I would have the fuel pressure checked, making sure it dont loose pressure intermintantly.
I would have the Cat. converter checked. Although this would happen more frequently.
I would guess you MAY be speaking of the "problem" of the upper intake manifold (plastic) wallowing out where the EGR pipe goes into it.
If so, that would be getting coolant into the cylinders. You would be gettting fouled plugs.
This could be checked by pressure testing coolant system.
Only other MAY be the fuel presure regulator recall they had. You can check with your local Pontiac dealership and find out if your vehicle falls into this recall and or if has been done already.
Other that that, If I can be of mare assistance, feel free to follow post back.
Good Luck
