Pontiac Repair: 1999 sunfire power locks, sunfire, car stereo

Question
We just installed a non factory car stereo that was repaced/upgraded under warranty.  The new stereo required us to splice the power and battery together for it to work at all.  Seperate power to power and battery to battery didn't work at all.  Since the stereo was successfully installed in this modified way now the remote power locks/trunk are not functioning from the remote.

Answer
Hi
The RADIO fuse MAY be open (blown), which will cause your problem.
It feeds the remote control dool lock reciever module.
Check that first. If not if the fuse did not blow, you may have inadvertently toasted the module.
Hope this helps.
Just advice from experience.
Good Luck
