Pontiac Repair: brake light, brake light switch, pontiac grand prix

Question
I just bought a 89 pontiac grand prix se, 2.8 litre,v6, the brake light use to stay on once the car was parked, keys out, unoccupied, so i decided to take out the fuse for the bak brake light. Since then, i tried putting it back in, and now it doesnt work at all. I recently changed all brakes, pads, rotors, and alternator, I just bought the car so I did alot of work. What would make the brake lights stay on, and now not work at all, i have already replaced all the fuses. Please help/.

Answer
Hi
I looked at the wiring, pretty straightfoward circuit.
If the fuse is good, then check the orange/black wire going to the stop lamp switch (brake light switch).
If the wire is hot, push on the pedal and see if the light blue wire is getting hot.
If not the brake light switch is PROBABALLY your fault.
If so check and make sure your getting current to each rake bulb socket on the light blue wire.
If not the wire is at fault between the stop lamp switch and the bulbs.
If so it'll be bulbs and or sockets.
JUST ADVICE from experience.
Hope this helps
Good Luck
