Pontiac Repair: ignition switch, older cars, aprt

Question
my ign.switch will frequently not go to lock position.i repeatedly turn it off and back on and shift out of park and back into park to try to make it lock.

i suugetst taking the colum aprt to see what is loose, the older cars with tilt tave a problem with the bolts on the tilt coming loose making exceesive play in the steering wheel, thus the rods wont enguage all the way into the lock positon eitherway youll have to have it taken apert to see what is worn, loose or broken,,,
