How do i loosen the belt to get the alternator off of a 1995 pontiac grand am 3.1 v6

Hi
The tensioner is located on the front of engine under the alternator.
It'll be hard, but you'll be able to get a 3/8" square drive racthet down there and the "hole" to loosenn the tensioner is a 3/8" square.
you'll have to actuate tensioner counter clockwise to relieve the tension on the belt for removal.
