QuestionQUESTION: Turn car on and everything (lights, radio) works. Turn key to start and nothing happens. What do I need to check?
ANSWER: well there are alot of reason or things it could be,m, does your car have a security system? does it turn over or crank at all? is it in park and try starting it in neutral as well? you can try to start it like this have someone under the car with a small hammer and while you try to start the car in the start posotion have them tap on the starter, if it starts replace the starter. but make sure its in park and the ebrakle on first

QUESTION: It does have an anti theft system. I've tried the reset recommended in other postings (leave in on position for 10 minutes then turn off). It doesn't crank at all. When turning key to on I hear the fuel pump then when I try to start nothing happens except for radio turning off. It has a new battery. Coils and plugs replaced 1.5 months ago, ICM tested at the same time and it was fine. Does same thing when trying to start in neutral. Tapping on the starter didn't work (tried it after sending first question). It seems like it is not getting power to the starter, have checked all fuses in panel in dash and panel next to battery, can't find any loose connections. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
ANSWER: ok well you say it has a theft system,, try this remove the battery cable and leave it off for 30 minutes,then place the key in the ignition inj the on position for thiry minutes and see if the secutiy light goes out. check all the fuses. there might be a fuse box located on the pass side end of the dash on that one as well i cant remeber but ill check

QUESTION: Went to try that when I got home, but car started on first try before I touched anything. Hadn't started for 3 days no matter what I tried. Could there be a short somewhere? And are there any obvious places to check (keep in mind I know next to nothing about cars)
Answerwell i am guessing that the security system was inoperaable and it reset itself. next time it starts note the security light on the dash, and when it fails see if that securioty ligght changes any.. well any way its up and running, i woulsd tell you it was fixxed telepathically but i know you would not believe tha t heheh
