Pontiac Repair: My car dies when tempature in hot outside, fuel pressure gauge, engine management computer

Question
I am wandering if you have any suggestions for me. until a week ago no problems. last Sat after 10 mile trip and 10 minute wait would not restart, restarted next day. Tues after 25 MI stopped for gas would not restart 15 minute cool down start and ran normal. Today hottest day of year so far car died in traffic after 10 miles restarted after half hour wait. Died 10 miles later restarted after cool down. The car is a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am automatic Trans 2.3L Quad-4, air conditioning is not working. I have changed the engine management computer the problem persists, I have tested the ignition module at Autozone and it passes even after it was to hot to handle!
There seems to be a temperature problem with some engine subsystem when it gets too hot but the question is where.
Any suggestions will be accepted.  Thanks  Mike

Answer
Hi Mike
Is the service engine soon light on?
I think what you may have is a fuel pump getting hot and stopping. after it cools, it'll pump for a while until it gets hot.
My best advise would be to get a repair shop your familiar with to drive it around with a fuel pressure gauge attached to vehicle. When it stops, they'll be able to pinpoint if it was the pump.
Also check the fan operation, see if it comes on at all. if not that too will need to be addressed.
This is just advise from experience.
I hope it helps.
Good Luck
Paul
