1996firbirb want start lights come on no dash lights want turn over possible securitey

Does the "Security" light either flash or come on steady?
If so, it is a security problem, MOST LIKELY the ignition key switch. There are 2 wires that "read" the chip code and these wires very often break up close to the key switch.
If not give me more details such as get the battery checked, battery connections etc....
