Pontiac Repair: a/c, voltage meter, compresser

For some reason my compresser will not come on. I have checked the relay and fuses they all appeared good. I pulled the plug off of the compresser and checked it with a voltage meter. What can i eliminate before spending all my money?

the problem may be youre system is low on freon.when this happens the compressor will not come on.if you have the newer system you can purchase a recharge kit at the parts store that comes with gauges and freon to charge the system yourself.there will also be instructions.if you have the old r12 system you will have to have it serviced by a qualified ac technician.
