Pontiac Repair: engine, chevrolet lumina, grades of gasoline

Question
Dear Sir,

My car was imported from the US. It is a Chevrolet Lumina 3.1 automatic. As soon as the highest gear is engaged the car starts to shake, as if there is no fuel (but there is). In this gear we get a bit seasick. One garageman plugged in the scanner and said the problem was the TCC. the TCC repair people however also did a test run and said it was not a problem in the tcc or the transmission, but in the engine. What could it possibly be?
Thank you.

Yours,

Jan Kranenbarg

Answer
Depending on where you had this imported from and where you now live the issue may be that the computer is programmed for a different altitude, grades of gasoline, etc. You can have this fixed by either a reprogramming or prom replacement dependent upon the year of the car. Talk to the local dealership or a really good diagnostic garage that has the equipment needed to do reprogramming and you should find your answer. Hope this is some help and good luck :)
