Pontiac Repair: 92 Bonneville, column support, ssei

I have an intermittent sound problem. It is electronic, not mechanical. It sounds like my low gasoline warning "bong", only it is steady. It lasts anywhere from a few minutes to all day--Is the a way to disable the gasoline warning sound? Possibly that is the cause. Pls advise, Thanks, Bob

This may be the Chime module,though it would be hard for me to diagnose without listening to it,the location of the module is center of the dash lower and to the left of the ashtray if its an SE,if its and SSE and SSEI then the module is located center under dash to the right of the steering column support.
